ABOUT RICH BURKHART

Some of my favorite photographers are storytellers. They capture fleeting moments that last a lifetime and change the world. Over 14 years at a daily newspaper, I covered and chronicled major events and celebrities. I photographed athletes, presidents, and some of the biggest stories in our part of the world. My photos were seen by millions of people and won newspaper awards. After hundreds of front page spreads, I left the world of journalism to focus on weddings. Now, I change lives by capturing your memories. I've never been happier than I am in the time I spend with a couple on their wedding day. I love sharing in that special once-in-a-lifetime moment with them.

Photography and art is my love and my calling. Meeting my muse, the lovely Rebecca, forever changed my life. Falling in love allowed me to open my eyes and experience the love of others through my lens in a new way. A month before our son was born, I decided to focus on my family, and to do what I love through Photos by Rich Burkhart.

More than half of my life has been dedicated to studying the art of photography. I take pride in my education with an MFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). My style of shooting is artistic/photojournalistic. I capture moments as they happen but also give direction. I know these events, that I am privileged to attend are some of the most important days in your life. I take great pride in every image that I capture.
