Jekyll Island Sunrise Proposal

Joe-Proposal-Blog-5

As a guy, I know that planning a surprise proposal is not an easy task. There are so many things that need to go right in order for it to work out, especially when it’s going to be photographed. Earlier this week, I had arranged to be in position on Jekyll Island’s Driftwood Beach just after sunrise. The only problem- it was pouring rain my entire drive from Savannah, and I was not too confident that the skies were going to clear. However, Joe was confident it was going to be just fine over the beach. As I was driving along the causeway in the rain, I was beginning to doubt Joe’s weather forecasting abilities. By some miracle, perhaps by Joe’s sheer excitement over proposing to his beautiful girlfriend, the rain stopped just as I arrived, and it didn’t rain another drop.

I got to my position and waited for Joe and Casey to arrive, with the family dog in tow. He tells me both the dog and Casey were a bit hesitant about the long morning beach walk, but they arrived right on time. Joe got into position and on bended knee he proposed. Casey was excitedly surprised and said yes. After I revealed that I was documenting the entire thing, we walked Driftwood Beach for an engagement session.

The rest of Joe’s plan was to announce it to all of their family, who was vacationing with them on the Island and treat them to a family photo session. We met back up at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel where he made the announcement over a champagne toast and then we went out onto the grounds for photos.

Congratulations Casey and Joe! It was a pleasure for me to be a part of such a special day.

Savannah Senior Photography

Abbe-Blog-6

When you live in such a beautiful city, it is sometimes difficult to pick the best location but,  Forsyth Park was definitely the perfect setting for Abigail’s Savannah Senior Photography session. I had a wonderful time with Abbe and her family as we strolled through the park capturing so many beautiful images.

Forsyth Park Engagement Session

Eric-&-Emily-Blog-1

Engagement sessions have easily become one of my favorite things to photograph. I love having the opportunity to get know a couple as we walk the historic streets of Savannah documenting their love. This past weekend Emily and Eric, who live in Atlanta, were visiting Savannah along with family from Boston as they finalize plans for their 2015 wedding. Sunday was the perfect day for a beautiful Forsyth Park engagement session. We had such a great time together! I can’t wait to document their destination wedding in April.
