Sneak Preview: Jessica & Justin, Savannah, GA Wedding

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to document a weekday wedding at the Marshall House in Savannah, Georgia. Jessica and Justin, along with many of their guests, work in the service industry so a weekend wedding didn’t fit into the busy schedules. Weekday or weekend I am always excited to share in a couple’s special day. So here is a sneak preview of some of the many images I captured of Jessica and Justin.

Pictures that Sing: Blair Crimmins and the Hookers

Savannah offers a lot of venues for live entertainment almost any night of the week.  Because of our schedules my wife and I rarely take advantage of the many talented musicians that perform here.  Well for once we had to make an exception.  Even though we both had early morning commitments there was no way we were going to pass on a chance to see Blair Crimmins and the Hookers here in our own town.  Now we both enjoy their music but my wife really, really loves them!  In fact she loves them so much that the smartest thing I did for our wedding, other than showing up and saying “I do”, was convincing them to perform for the reception.  Blair and the gang have not been to Savannah since our wedding.  So there was no way we could dare miss their show at the World of Beer.  Needless to say they did not disappoint! Even though I was a bit slow getting up this morning, the smile on my wife’s face all through the night was well worth missing a little sleep.  So, take my advice and if you get a chance to see Blair Crimmins perform, don’t miss it!

Letting an 18-Month-Old be Herself

This past weekend I had the joy of photographing Troy, Emma, and Marcella in Beaufort, SC.  The photo session was scheduled to capture some natural photos of 18-month-old Marcella.  Well I have photographed lots of children through the course of my career as a photojournalist, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the energy and independence of an 18-month-old.  We took plenty of props with us to help create some photographic opportunities but Marcella was not interested in wings, tutus, or “gasp” cupcakes!  So I did what any experienced photojournalist would do. I got out of the way and let Marcella be herself.
